I've already said this in the chat, but in case anyone else reading cares ; So basically, if 75 out of 100 people think he's great, then 75 out of 100 people have,
A. Bad taste
B. No idea what rap is
or C. A need to just follow a stupid trend.

If Lil' Wayne is a good rapper, then I guess anyone who can pull their pants to their ankles, have a mild case of Down's Syndrome and Autotune, and talk into a microphone can be successful.

1. Just because you don't like the way he sings that doesn't mean everyone doesn't have to like it... From what i've known everyone have different taste on music, etc etc...

If you think that why don't you try it and see how it goes... So then what could be the reason he got famous?? Was it from making movies?? Because i don't think that's the reason... But i think it's because maybe people like his music, right?? For me that makes more sense...

It's not what rap is for ME, it's what rap is. Period. In general. It's SUPPOSED to be poetic, and if it's not poetic it's at least supposed to at least tell a story or discuss some sort of serious topic. Nowadays, the entire industry is overrun with clowns who, and I'm not joking or trying to be negative in any way, TALK into the mic. That's what they do. They crank up the Autotune, fuck around with their voice till it sounds strange enough to rhyme shit that shouldn't go together, and TALK into the microphone. HOW is that music? Rap should not be about beats, albeit that some make it easier to listen to than other, but that's NOT what the genre is. Anyone who thinks that should stick to Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus.
